  • Day 2 - South Shore - Skogar - Vik - Kirkjubaejarklaustur

    Private 2 Days South Shore Excursion by Mini Bus with an English Speaking Driver. On this South Coast adventure, we set out to explore the most visited attractions in the land of fire and ice. For starters, we’ll drive through farmlands and a few cozy little towns to Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, one of Iceland’s most well-known waterfalls. Next stop is Skogafoss Waterfall, which can be marveled both from below and from the top of the falls, after a climb of about 500 steps.

    Carrying on with our journey, we’ll head to Vik, a world-famous Black Sand Beach with dramatic Reynisdrangar basalt sea stacks formed by Iceland’s fascinating volcanic activity rising up from the Atlantic Ocean. We’ll stop for lunch at the town of Vik or nearby. 

    Back on our minibus, we’ll drive through moss-covered lava landscapes to Kirkjubaejarklaustur, a village wrapped in legends.

  • Day 3 - South Shore - Jokulsarlon - Skaftafell - Reykjavik

    After breakfast, we’ll head to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, one of the most surreal sights in the world, let alone Iceland. Floating icebergs dot the enormous lagoon as they slowly make their way towards the open sea. Some blue icebergs run ashore on the famous Diamond Beach, where they glitter like diamond jewels on the black volcanic sand. Photo stop at Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon.

    Heading back to Reykjavik, we’ll make a stop at Skaftafell National Park, a preservation area with ample hiking trails, fabulous views of ragged-toothed mountains and imposing glaciers.

Day Excursion to Mountain Vestrahorn in East Iceland

On the Ring Road drive east past Hofn, after around 7km turn right onto an unmarked gravel road just before reaching the tunnel. Follow this road for around 5 km and you will have reached the black sand beach of Vestrahorn.Vestrahorn mountain has been getting a lot of photographic attention in recent years. Vestrahorn is a 454 metre tall scree mountain, mainly made up of gabbro and granophyre rocks. The Stokksnes peninsula on its west side locks in seawater by the land, so it's possible to get some great shots of the mountain mirrored in the calm seawater, that's almost like a big lagoon, but varies in size with the tide.

Puffin & Volcano tour to Westman Islands
